In the first quarter of 2025, Rába continued to consistently pursue its strategic objectives, while its operation was still profoundly influenced by global market uncertainties. Interna-tional trade tensions – including the new and continuously changing customs tariff meas-ures – require increased adaptability and cautious planning from industry actors.
In the first quarter, the company registered consolidated sales amounting to HUF 14.5 billion, which shows stable sales even upon international market uncertainties. EBITDA reached HUF 731 million, a sign of operating cash-flow generating capabilities as a result of maintaining production efficiency and cost control measures. This is an important achievement especially in a quarter characterised by low demand. Rába’s financial performance made a positive contribution to the total comprehen-sive revenues of the period, resulting primarily from the profit stemming from the revaluation of the loan portfolio and the interest burdens declining compared to the previous quarter.
Shareholders’ equity increased during the period by 1.1 per cent compared to the level of the pre-vious year. The value of equity per share was HUF 1,786/share.
The flexibility of production and delivery processes, the efficient management of resources and the conscious optimisation of operating costs remain key factors of Rába’s operation. Production ma-nagement, logistics, resource management and digitisation are crucially important in adapting to fast changing market demands. In these areas, Rába implements measures, which not only increa-se internal efficiency but also mitigate external economic risks.
Economic and geopolitical tensions affecting global demand – especially the customs tariffs intro-duced in the American-European and European-Asian relations – directly impact Rába’s export activities. Frequently changing customs tariffs impact supply chains, as well as pricing. According to the analysis of Portfolio.hu published on 8. May , the performance of the production sector is weak, it fell behind the level of the previous year by 4.4%. The study highlights that industrial output weakend economic performance on both a quarterly and annual basis, especially due to the negati-ve trends apparent in the automotive sector.
