All Business Unit of Rába Concluded 2022 with Profits

RÁBA Plc. concluded the 2022. business year with group-level consolidated sales revenues of HUF 64.3 billion, a remarkable growth compared to the figures of the previous year. The group of companies managed to respond well to the strained economic situation characteristic for the entire year, which exerted gradual and as the year advanced, growing pressure primarily on the cost side of the operation.

Last year required substantial level-headedness of all economic actors: in addition to the crisis developed on the energy market at the end of 2021, the Russian-Ukrainian military conflict erupted at the beginning of 2022 also worked as a major economic factor. As a result of recent unexpected events, global market relations were reshuffled, at the same time all production cost and other cost elements saw a drastic increase. The flexibility and integrity of enterprises gained a determining role, accordingly, keeping purchase prices at bay and passing on increased production costs resulting from the energy prices have become key tasks for Rába.

In spite of the overall uncertainty in the automotive industry, Rába’s strategic markets have been characterised by a higher demand, which has made a positive contribution to the result of the company. The operating profit of the group of companies in 2022 exceeded HUF 2 billion, the highest operating profit of the past 5 years. Despite the drastic pressure exerted by costs, all subsidiaries achieved EBITDA figures exceeding the level of the previous year and group-level EBITDA exceeded HUF 4.6 billion. This means that in terms of EBITDA, the group registered the second highest result of the past 10 years.

Compared to the same period of the previous year, the amount of shareholders’ equity increased by 5.4 per cent. The value of equity per share was HUF 1,657/share.

“We are consistently moving along the path we have embarked upon, as a result of which the Rába Group can conclude its 2022 operation successfully again. The measures implemented to date of the Rába Modernisation Programme 2025 launched last year brought measurable results at the Győr plant already in Q4 of 2022, which resulted in the highest quarterly operating result of the past 8 years of the Axle business unit last year, in spite of high energy and raw material prices. Such success, tangible in the short run as well, provides a solid basis for us to carry on with our plans unchanged, securing the results, stable operation and development of the Rába Group”, stressed Béla Hetzmann, Chairman-CEO of RÁBA Automotive Holding Plc.
