Successes in the field of apprenticeship training in the life of Rába

Strategic business goals, new perspectives, renewed organisation, high-value investments... So much news about the completed parts of the modernisation programme of Rába Group.

The Rába production processes with a high level of professional knowledge, require expertise and complex technology. This is why one of the keys to our development is the training of the right professionals.

In Győr and the region, the name Rába used to be synonymous with metalworker training. However, due to local industrial changes, labour market restructuring and a high level of skilled emigration (close proximity to Austria), there were serious difficulties in finding and retaining traditional skilled metal workers from the new, young generation.

The requirements of the new Vocational Education and Training Act, which will come into force in 2020, and the business challenges ahead have also required the new management to rethink the training field. Building a process and finding the right people to deal with the new regulatory environment has become indispensable in the life of the company.

With our long-standing, dedicated and highly professional staff, full-time executive trainers and andragogy-trained HR experts, we have introduced a modern approach to our dual training. With vocational training institutions and the Győr-Moson-Sopron County Chamber of Commerce and Industry we made our cooperation strong again. Through structured, ongoing dialogue and our presence in schools we activated students. In our internal operations, colleagues who take on the training of apprentices and new employees, in addition to their other production tasks, are highly supported, trained and recognised.

We are proud to say that, as a result of our efforts, we are currently accepting students in 4 trades in Győr - welding, machining and CNC cutting, toolmaking and industrial engineering - with a number of has doubled in the last two years. We also put a lot of emphasis on students studying with us as employees and we were delighted to see that last year's graduates we hired almost everyone. For the academic year 2023/24, we have already seen an oversubscription above the number of students we planned to host, which is a clear sign that the effective work of our staff is paying off and students like to learn and develop at Rába, and are keen to think with us about the future.

Our goals for the next academic year include obtaining further professional accreditations, restarting the training at the Rába Futómű Kft.'s Sárvár site with a suitable instructor, and we would like to further develop suitable for studies physical area is.

We believe that the future of our production lies in a balance between a young generation with modern skills and our highly experienced professionals, and we are committed to continuing to develop.
